“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality,” said Warren Bennis, an American scholar, organizational consultant and author, widely regarded as a pioneer of the contemporary field of Leadership studies.
There might be times when you feel that there are not enough hours in a day to make your work done. This can be irritating and cause a mess at the workplace. Well, working in an office with a huge workload can cause stress and tension; also you can get distracted and lose the right path to achieve the goal. As a leader, you need to find some better ways to increase productivity in the workplace.
Here are some ways to help you increase productivity as a leader:
Take a break:
We all have heard the phrase that ” working hard will get you success” but working day and night without taking breaks will lead to a decrease in the quality of work and increase the stress in the office. Try to take small breaks during your work, take a small walk, or do breathing exercises for a few minutes to relax your mind and body. You need to make ways to distract yourself from your work so that you can balance your personal life too.
Stop multitasking:
Well, many people believe that multitasking is a great skill to being successful but it’s not completely true. When you multitask two different work at the same time then you will not able to give your 100% in any task that will prevent you from providing effective work results. Try to concentrate on one task at a time which will let you be more focused and it will give you a feeling of better accomplishment.
Prioritize:
Working in an office is full of hectic workloads and deadlines. Try to manage your time according to your work, write down your daily tasks and divide them according to their importance value. Those tasks that need to be completed urgently focus on the first and then shift to other remaining tasks. This will offer you some free time from your work and you will be able to balance your professional and personal life more easily.
Avoid distractions and interruptions:
If you are working hard and still not getting positive results then try to minimize interruptions that are preventing your hard work to provide effective results. Even if it means closing your door or letting people know not to disturb you during your work. Put your phone away because it is one of the main reasons for distractions.
