Tips on How to Boost Your SEO Rankings

Does your SERP rankings seem to be stuck or lagging? Don’t worry, and I am going to provide you with tips on how to boost your rankings organic rankings.

As we know, increased SEO rankings can mean a lot to your business. The better rankings, the more relevant traffic you should be receiving and, in theory, increased leads and sales. Now how doesn’t want this for their company? Being able to generate business just by ranking high on major search engines like Google and Bing seems like a blessing.

This is not your typical how-to-do search engine optimization article. The tips that I am going to provide are actionable, not theory-based. If you are willing to put in the effort, I promise you that you will see increased rankings. These tips are in no particular order, and all play an essential role in the success of your SEO marketing.

Tip One: Use SurferSEO

Tip Two: Your Backlink Profile Matters

Years ago, when building backlinks, you wanted to get dofollow links from quality sites with your keywords or exact match keywords included in the anchor text. Well, those days are long gone. Today when building links, you want to focus on diversity and building a brand. What I mean by this is mix up the type of links you get. You want your profile to look as natural as possible. If you are only getting dofollow guest posts from high domain authority sites, do you think that looks natural?

Nofollow Links Are Good

Nofollow links have gotten a bad rap over the years because the nofollow tag was designed not to pass link juice. However, to create a natural link profile, you will need to include nofollow links. Some of the biggest brand sites have a ratio of over 40% for nofollow links. So, this tells me you better be adding them in your link building as well.

Tip Three: Fulfill User Intent

This is a hot topic, and many people truly misunderstand what user intent is. People think creating an article with the keywords that they want to rank for is all they need to do. Well, they are wrong. Written content is not necessarily user intent. To fulfill user intent, you need to give the readers what they are looking for.

The best way for me to explain this would be to give you an example. Say you are a mortgage loan company, and you want to rank for the keyword mortgage loan calculator. Do you think it’s better to have an article written about the loan calculator or actually have a calculator tool on the web page? If you picked option two, you are correct.

There are instances where lower competition keywords you will be able to rank with the content alone. However, if the word is in a more competitive niche, the site that actually fulfills what the user is looking for will win out.

Tip Four: Content is Still King

If you have a stagnant web page, update your content. The more interesting and in-depth detail you make your content, the better of you will be. For one, if you have detailed content, your readers will look at your site as being more authoritative, and you have more opportunities to include semantic keywords throughout your content.

With all thigs being equal long-form content will outrank a page with little to no content. So, take the time to look at your site and find pages that are stuck on page two or three in the SERPs and update it. If your page doesn’t see a boost from this within a month of being cached with the update, I will let you call me whatever bad name you want. This is how sure I’m that this will help your rankings as long as your content is in-depth and fulfilling user intent.
